Cafe Noriter

What a lovely surprise to stumble upon this little gem of a place!
I have been wanting to find this place since starting this coffee blog and presto, we found it.

This place is clean, and geometric. Its a place where you can have private conversations, but also can see what is happening in the rest of the cafe. Comfortable conversation areas with pillows, and a soft rug. String curtains are what divides you from the rest of the place.

The Batista's spoke limited English but the menu was all in Hangul. So, we looked at the menu posted on the wall and pointed under the frappuccino section. We ordered 1st 2nd and 3rd item under it.

Loved going here for the atmosphere, the coffee was grand, and conversation even better.
Love these ladies.

This was the logo on the table.

Cafe Rumi take 2

To start this post off right, I have to say that I am so glad I went with two adventurous ladies. If I had not gone with them, things could have been different.  We went into Cafe Rubio, and had to take our shoes off.  That is a normal custom for Korea, actually all of asia. The shoes we had to put on were public shoes. Who knows who had been in there before, but we decided to just put them on.
We were then escorted into a little booth upon which we climbed in. The lady yelled at us cause we still had our slippers on, (had to take them off at the entry point).
This poor lady was trying so very hard to communicate with us, and us to her, but nothing. We finally got we had to come out to the front and serve ourselves. Which was fine, but there was no instruction and we just well, explored.  They had ice cream, various flavour's of lemonade, and coffee in a pot that had 1 cup in it, and was cold. Hm...

I did take the menu and point to waffle, and she made one for all of us and brought it to us.
It cost 6,000 won per person just to be there, and you can choose anything to drink from there.
They had coffee on the menu, but alas when I asked her about it, she said no.

The decor was somewhat cute, but there were tares in the padding, and on the walls had spots where mirrors use to hang, and mold on the ceiling.

I don't want to sound negative, cause there were some great things and if we spoke the language it might have been better. The person working spoke no English although she did have a translator on the computer and asked us to come and read it. That was really helpful.

Ok, overall, I would give Cafe Rubio 4 out of 10 coffee beans,

Jung Jin won (main store)

This shop was one of my favourites as its the mother ship of a previous post. They were so popular they opened a second one. YEAH! Spreading the coffee love!  I went with a lot of woman from Chapel and enjoyed some female fellowship. What a great time of getting to know one another.
Lots of goodies and hearing stories. Again, I am blown away by how God works in all our lives. So excited to hear and see the wonderful character of God in each other.

Review:  10 out of 10 coffee beans.
Coffee is brewed on site, and if you order a specific country they will prepare drip coffee or siphon it at your table.
They also have honey bread, fretzels, and a wide variety of other non coffee treats.

There is a map of where the shop is. Enjoy!

Iced cappuccino and an Afagado

Honey bread with home made whip cream

This is the roasting room.

They have coffee to purchase as well.

Lady Grey Tea House

What a better way to spend the afternoon than with my love at a tea house.
For 10,000 Won each, you can get, all of this. They speak limited English, so its easy to order. If all else fades, point to the menu in the window that is in English.

There is limited seating so big groups would not be good here. I would say maybe it seats about 10.  But for a little one on one, or two on one is a good thing. This place is a little taste of an English tea, minus the clotted cream.

Directions:
If you use the five finger approach, travel up the middle finger and make a left at the first, or second street. You will see a little fountain  courtyard in a triangle shape.  You can't miss it.

Cafe Rumi

Cafe Rubio we walked into, and then called out to anyone to hear us. No one answered, so we put our shoes back on and left. We went downstairs to Jung Jin Won coffee.  I would still like to go at some point here and taste everything. For now, here are photos for my followers. (which hopefully there is at least 1)

Jung Jin Won coffee

We had lots of fun going to this place with students. Loved seeing expressions from the various drinks bought. Loved the company, loved the coffee and atmosphere. I learned tonight (went to the mother ship of this place) that they roast their own coffee, and you can choose which country you want coffee from if you get siphoned or drip coffee. YUM!

Food was good, Fretzel, Green Tea latte, cappuccino, Carmel macchiato, vanilla shake, bubble tea (mango).

Rating: 1-10 coffee beans: I give it a 9
Directions: its across the street and down a block from Cafe Muse.
